About me:

I, Valeriy ‘Val’ Paliy Jr. have done many things in my life, despite having a disability, which, thanks to the Lord our God, doesn’t affect my mental abilities.

First and foremost – I am a human being, with my strengths and weaknesses – and I know them both. Humans are not perfect, but it’s in our hands to change, every day, with the help of God and other people. It’s likely, but not surprising, however, that I am too philosophical – I’ve been into Eastern philosophy ever since I was the age of 10.

Philosophy, however, doesn’t earn a living unless you teach it at some school, so I am a computer science major, with Masters degree from “Kiev-Moghyla Academy” here in Nikolaev, Ukraine, Eastern Europe. I’ve been doing HTML + CSS since 1997, and Visual C# development since summer of 2008. A combination of .Net Framework + ASP.Net + C# is a great way to web development, as far, as I can tell, and with today’s growth of the Internet and its importance, I am sure anyone choosing to use it in day-to-day development is on the right track. I’ve worked in three different development teams since 2002, and I must say I love working as part of a team – the development process, especially if it is agile software development, fascinates me.

Enough talking about Monday thru Friday. On weekends, I love watching good movies, reading books, spending time with my friends, and doing outdoor activities, such as picnics, for example. I also play the guitar a little bit, and make poetry, when I get the inspiration.

I’ve mentioned God here a couple of times already, and that’s not an accident, for I am a believer, an Orthodox Christian by faith. Studying at Ashland University in Ohio, I’ve led an International Bible Study under the guidance of Dr. Michael F. Gleason, Ph.D., a director of Ashland University’s Religious Life at that time. I’ve later on continued working for God as a translator-therapist for Joni and Friends, and I keep in touch with them to this day.

You’ve just read a short layout of my life and my achievements. It’s surely incomplete, for I am growing in my experience, but should you choose to contact me to get to know me better, and hopefully – have me as a part of your team – I will be glad to learn something new and share my knowledge with other members of the team.

With deep respect, on the blessed October 17, 2008, Val Paliy.
